Global Hands-on Universe Conference

The 2004 Global HOU conference will be held in St Petersburg, Russia, at Pulkovo Observatory (Central Astronomical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and Astronomical Institute of the St Petersburg State University. Regularly this conference gathers scientists and teachers from high and middle schools from six continents. The goal is to summarize the current status of the international educational project Global Hands-On Universe, and to promote interaction between research and teaching through practical "Hands-On" applications. This concerns the teaching of astronomy, the development of educational telescopes networks and their interface with research, the public outreach activities.
